BIOGRAPHY

Bob Richards is the stage name for Robert Richardson from South Orange, New Jersey.  Bob is a retired public school music teacher and has served more than 30 years educating.    He is  New Jersey's own "Pianoman".  

 

He performed 5 nights a week as the house pianist at the four star restaurant in West Orange, New Jersey, "The Manor".

 

Bob grew up in historic Charleston, South Carolina where he began his study of music at the tender age of 5 at the insistence of his grandmother.  He pursued the study of the piano through college with a degree in music from Fisk University, Nashville Tennessee with post graduate studies in education, church music ministries, and pedagogy at the Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey.

After graduate studies, he performed for local schools and church programs in New Jersey as well as the Hilton, Sheraton, Radisson, and the Marriott Hotels prior to the Manor. 

 

Bob has recorded piano music, composed original music, teaches students piano and vocal stylings and is basically a request pianist.  He plays your favorite melodies with an elegant piano artistry that adorns your dining with garnishments of blues, jazz and classical sounds.
